Ceylon1 was established in 2003 after I fell in love with Sri Lanka, its people and its tea. The dream was to build an ethical business that would enable me to keep a part of myself in the country as well as help the people I met there. I wanted a business that gave something to the community of which I had grown so fond.
Our main focus is to build a lasting relationship between the products we consume, and their origin. Direct from the tea estate, Ceylon1 embodies unblended freshness. Our company only deals in seasonally picked teas from an ethically run single estate using sustainable farming techniques, making Ceylon 1 a leader in its field.
The cool climate, mountain soil and the famous trade winds which sweep across from the Indian Ocean give this tea its unique Uva flavour. The Greenfield estate produces some of the finest high grown teas in Sri Lanka if not the world. It maintains two other priorities besides exceptional tea; people and the environment. Uniquely, Ceylon 1 teas are picked, processed, blended and packed by the estate itself, keeping more money within the estate community.
